Welcome to our website! We are a small, but ambitious school located in beautiful West Somerset. We cater for children aged 4-9 years and have five year groups from Reception to Year 4.  There are five classes and each class is assigned a class teacher responsible for the education and pastoral needs of the child for one year.

The spirit and heart of our very special community ensures the inclusion of every pupil across all ages and ability. At Old Cleeve Church of England First School a commitment to fulfilling the potential of every child can be found deeply rooted in every member of staff, all of whom share a joined up approach to each child's personal educational journey. We encourage a love of learning, the development of self-esteem and strive to make our curriculum fun, exciting and relevant. As a Church School we aim to develop Christian values and foster a kind and caring attitude towards people as well as for their beliefs. Happy, sociable children are successful learners.

Much of the emphasis at Old Cleeve is on breadth of experience, developing a balance of opportunities and a holistic approach to learning. Hand in hand with the children's academic development is a wide and varied extra-curricular programme aimed at developing confidence, creativity and individuality. All pupils have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument in Years 1-4 as well as enjoying weekly music lessons from a specialist. Drama is a focal point within the school, and performances vary from assemblies to musical shows. Sport is varied and fully inclusive with many children having the opportunity to represent the school and experience the buzz of competition and team dynamics.

We hope you will enjoy looking at our school website to give you a flavour of life at Old Cleeve and we welcome comments and feedback regarding the website.  If you require any further information please contact the school direct - we look forward to hearing from you!
